Enhancements and More Villains Coming to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

WDW Halloween

Fall is one of the best times of the year at Walt Disney World Resort. The weather starts to change (at least a little bit), autumn décor makes Main Street, U.S.A. even more inviting, and it’s time once again to get dressed up for trick-or-treating during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park.

This year, the Disney villains are stepping out like never before during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, featuring new and enhanced experiences.

The popular “Villains Mix & Mingle – Live on Stage” returns to the Castle Forecourt Stage several times each night, with an unforgettable performance by beloved baddies from Disney films. Throughout the evening, guests interested in meeting their favorite Disney villains will now encounter them at locations around the park. Look for Jafar in Adventureland and the Queen of Hearts near Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland, while Lotso lurks near Buzz Lightyear in Tomorrowland.

At Princess Fairytale Hall, guests can choose between visiting Anna and Elsa or dropping in to see Snow White and Aurora, but be warned! The Queen and Maleficent are crashing this princess party, joining Snow White and Aurora for the night.

Another all-new feature of this year’s event, Club Villain, takes over The Diamond Horseshoe in Liberty Square with a wicked atmosphere, lively music, glowing décor, and appearances by Cruella De Vil, Dr. Facilier, Anastasia, Drizella, Lady Tremaine, and more!

Disney is also introducing enhancements to Mickey’s “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade, including the expansion of thePhineas and Ferb Creepa Crew pre-parade interactive experience to more of the parade route and the first-ever appearance of Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope in the parade.

Of course, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party also features treat trails with candy galore, the Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball in Tomorrowland, appearances by Jack and Sally from Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” the ride of the Headless Horseman, and “Happy HalloWishes” fireworks.

For 2014, this separately ticketed event has expanded to 26 nights, from opening day September 1 through Halloween night, October 31.

Festival of the Masters Cancelled for 2014 at Downtown Disney

Walt Disney World’s annual Festival of the Masters event at Downtown Disney has been cancelled for this year.  Nothing has been decided about a return in future years.

Disney has determined that it will not be possible to host the show because of the large amount of construction and parking restrictions currently underway as part of the Disney Springs redevelopment.

The annual event hosted hundreds of award winning artists in an exhibition and art marketplace every November.  Recently the festival has been expanded to include food and drink offerings.

Elsa & Anna Boutique and other Transformations Coming to Disneyland Resort

Elsa & Anna's Boutique

Disneyland is thrilled to announce the introduction of the newest location to the Downtown Disney District, Elsa & Anna’s Boutique. Currently home to Studio Disney 365, this location will undergo a transformation starting August 25, and will re-open in mid-September. I’ll be back soon with details on the new transformations, inspired by beloved characters like Anna, Elsa and Olaf, as well as details on some of the product offerings that will be available. In the meantime, here’s a look at the art for the logo that will grace this “cool” new location.

Now, Halloween Time wouldn’t be same without a little help from our Fairy Godmother, or in our case our Fairy Godmothers-in-Training at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Keeping with their simply sweet tradition, we welcome back the Halloween Minnie Mouse-inspired transformation through October 31. Just a quick reminder, transformations at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland at Disneyland park are only for our younger fans, ages 3 – 12 years. Quick Tip: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will offer extended operating hours on Mickey’s Halloween Party nights for any Trick-or-Treaters in need of a royal transformation.

Here are the five characters we can’t wait to see again:

Louis Stevens (Even Stevens
With his messy hair and hilarious hijinks, Louis Stevens was the character we secretly wanted to be best friends with in Even Stevens.

Dr. Jumba (Lilo & Stitch: The Series)
This former evil scientist eventually made his way into our hearts—especially because he was the mastermind behind Experiment 626, aka Stitch. Doesn’t he look really, really huggable?

Rufus (Kim Possible)
This pink, adorable, naked mole rat was the best (and cutest!) Disney Channel sidekick ever!

Raven (That’s So Raven)
The multi-talented Raven could sing, design… and see the future. Doesn’t she sound like the perfect teenager?

Cory (Cory in the House)
Cory’s address was pretty spectacular—1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, D.C. Who wouldn’t want to pay him a visit and taste his dad’s scrumptious food?
