Ability to Purchase MagicBands Without an Existing Ticket Expands to More Retail Locations

MagicBands

After the apparent successful August test of allowing the purchase of MagicBands without an existing RFID ticket or MagicBand, Disney will now be expanding the program to more retail locations.

Guests will be able purchase MagicBands without linking to a My Disney Experience account at most Walt Disney World locations, and even those off-site, including the Disney stores at Orlando International Airport, Hotel Plaza Blvd hotels, and the Outlet Malls.

The link-it-later option only applies to regular, solid colored MagicBands, and does not include the limited edition or graphic MagicBands.

Prior to this, a purchase of any MagicBand required the buyer to have an existing My Disney Experience account and RFID admission media for linking at the time of purchase. The new policy makes it possible to now by MagicBands as gifts or as part of a collection.

I am a lifelong fan of everything Disney. My first trip to a a Disney park was to Disneyland as a child in 1970, but didn't make to Walt Disney World until I went with my wife and first child in 1990. A year doesn't go by with out at least one trip to either Disneyland or Walt Disney World. My wife and I are Disney Vacation Club members and also Charter Members of D23.
