Walt Disney World says guests staying at its Fort Wilderness campground have to leave by 11 AM on Thursday as Hurricane Matthew approaches.
Disney said it is working with guests on an individual basis, accommodating requests for relocating when necessary but also encouraging those who are able to leave the area to do so. A Disney spokeswoman said it would make more sense for people to leave the property with their RVs than to risk damage to their vehicles.
There has been no word from Walt Disney World about whether its theme parks will close as the hurricane approaches. SeaWorld has announced it will close early Thursday and that it will be shut down all day Friday. Universal Orlando also has not yet announced any closure plans.
