New Characters in Flight Balloon Rises Above Disney Springs

The Characters in Flight balloon has a brand new look for Disney Springs.

Following a short refurbishment, the tethered balloon attraction has an all new look balloon, featuring shades of blue, and no more characters.

The balloon, which was custom-built for Disney by Paris-headquartered company Aérophile S.A., and is filled with 210,000 cubic feet of helium. The balloon’s 19-foot-diameter basket holds up to 29 people plus one Aérophile-certified pilot per flight.

The 10 minute flights cost $18 for adults, and $12 for ages 3-9.

Characters in Flight Closing Briefly in January for Redesign

Characters in Flight at Disney Springs will be closing for a redesign from January 9th through January 13th and will reopen to guests on January 14th, 2017.

Reportedly part of there refurbishment will include a brand new look for the balloon, complete with a new color scheme. The original Characters in Flight was designed for Downtown Disney, and it is expected that the new look will be more closely aligned with the Disney Springs look.
