We Say….IT’S NOT US!

Earlier today a website that sounds very close to our site reported another in a series unsubstantiated rumors and for the second time in a few weeks got called out by Disney and the Disney Parks Blog that the rumors were false and what was reported isn’t going to happen.  Yes….you read that right…Disney called them out.  Think about that.

What I want to assure you all is….IT’S NOT US!

It’s not what we do here.  We report the news and my take on those stories.  We don’t do rumors.  I don’t report news or even anything that sounds like a rumor unless it comes directly from Disney or is independently reported by at least two sources (and I mean independent sources, not two sources citing the same original source).

I value your time, intelligence and business.  I’m not going to waste my time and yours reporting a rumor that came from some Disney Transportation driver’s third cousin’s hair stylist.  Also….I don’t want to piss off the mouse.

Disney News Today to be Re-Imagineered

First of all….I would like to thank all of you that have been coming to Disney News Today for your Disney-related news stories.  I really appreciate it.

I have been struggling recently with how I have been presenting the news to you over the past nearly four years.  Over the past four years I have  been diligent in scouring the Internet for interesting Disney news.  As you may have noticed that a lot of the stories are reprints of press releases and stories found elsewhere.  I’ve been happy to be your conduit to stories that you may or may not have had access to.

In doing this I have chosen not to comment on or editorialize these stories.  This is why I’ve decided to re-imagineer the site.

This is where the change for the site will be heading.  After a short break…this shouldn’t be more than a few days or a week…I will continue to provide links to stories that I find interesting and have an opinion on.  With the link to the story I will provide you with my take on the story.  The take from a Disney nerd that loves the parks, their movies (Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Disney-Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars) and Disney-related podcasts.

When I find something that I want to comment on or find interesting, you will find it here.  I hope that you will like this change and I appreciate your future support.

Welcome to Disney News Today….The Place to Go for Disney News.  My plan for this site is for it to be a central location for Disney fans to go to for the Disney news that they desire….news from the parks, D23, Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel and other areas of the Walt Disney Company.

As a bit of background…I have been a Disney fan for as long as I remember.  As a child I watched all of the Disney movies that came out then and as a family we always managed to catch Walt Disney on Sunday night.  My first trip to a Disney park was in 1970 to Disneyland.  Though continuing to be a fan of Disney I managed to not get back to a Disney park again until 1990 when I, my wife and our first child went to Walt Disney World.  Every year since we’ve managed to make at least one trip to one of the domestic Disney Parks.  We have been Disney Vacation Club members since 1995.  We are also are Charter D23 members and have made it to each of the first three D23 Expos.

For the past six years I’ve been proud to be the person in charge of posting the Disney news stories on The Travelears website.  When the decision was made that the site would no longer be active I decided that produce my own website as an outlet for my passion for Disney news and my love of all things Disney.
