Disney-Area Resorts Do Well on U.S. News & Report’s Best Hotels List

U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of best hotels in Florida is out and two Disney-area resorts made the top 10.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort came in at No. 2, while Villas of Grand Cypress, Orlando ranked ninth. Of the two, Four Seasons is located on Disney property in the Golden Oak residential community.

Four Seasons and Grand Cypress ranked first and second, respectively, in the “Best Orlando-Walt Disney World Hotels” category.

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes ranked third in that category, followed by Waldorf Astoria Orlando. This marks the second year in a row Four Seasons took the top spot among best Orlando hotels.

Five Walt Disney World Resort hotels made the top 10 Orlando hotels — Disney’s Grand Floridian (5), Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (6), Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (7), Disney’s Beach Club Resort (9) and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn (10).

The other non-Disney property hotel in the top 10 was The Alfond Inn. The Winter Park hotel, owned by neighboring Rollins College, came in at No. 8.

In the best hotels in Florida category, Four Seasons Orlando was topped by The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. The Breakers in Palm Beach came in at No. 3.

1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Will Offer Brunch During Holiday Season

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will be offering an another dining opportunity at it’s 1900 Park Fare Restaurant during the busy holiday season.

‘A Grand Brunch at 1900 Park Fare’ will operate 12:45 PM to 3 PM from November 22 – 28th, and then December 20th to January 2nd.

Menu items will include Carved Herb-roasted New York Strip Loin, Made-to-Order Omelets and Eggs, Carved Floribbean Jerk Turkey Breast, Breakfast Burrito Bar, Vanilla French Toast, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, Mickey Waffles, Bread Pudding.

Pricing is $23.99 for adults and $12.99 ages 3 – 9, with reservations available online now. There will be no characters, unlike at breakfast and dinner.

Grand Floridian Suites Getting Refurbished

The suites at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at Walt Disney World will be refurbished starting this May.

The 25 suites at the Grand Floridian will be given what Disney calls “a sophisticated, classically inspired aesthetic with a modern twist.”

The suites will be getting new draperies, window treatments and bed coverings that will feature neutral colors with deep red and cool aquas. New furnishings will include seating, lighting, artwork, flooring and wall finishes with silver and gold tones

Disney has said that only a few suites will be closed at a time for the refurbishment.

Last year, Grand Floridian refurbished its rooms.
