Disneyland is always looking for new and innovative ways to enhance their storytelling. For example, updating beloved classics allows them to – as Walt Disney said – “keep molding and shaping” the guest experience. As they look forward to celebrating the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, they also have exciting changes coming to two of our classic attractions this spring.
First, a Disneyland park favorite is about to get even better as new effects are being added to Matterhorn Bobsleds. Just wait until you see the Abominable Snowman in ways you’ve never seen him before when the attraction reopens in May!
Also reopening in May is Peter Pan’s Flight, featuring a reimagined nursery scene and a variety of special effects that will make this classic and beloved attraction come to life in new ways.
Peter Pan’s Flight at the Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment in early March.
The Fantasyland ride will closed March 5-6, reopening to guests on March 7th.
Also in March, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at the Magic Kingdom is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment.
The closure begins on March 4th and ends on March 5th, reopening to guests on March 6th.
The queue at Walt Disney World’s Peter Pan’s Flight ride will soon get new interactive features.
Guests standing in line will see a 3-D Tinker Bell flying around Wendy’s bedroom. A new technology will make it seem as though she is flying right up to people standing in line.
According to reports guest’s shadows will be manipulated to make them interact with shadows of butterflies and a top hat.
And at the end of the attraction, Tinker Bell will fly by and sprinkle departing visitors with pixie dust.
The features are expected to undergo some testing during a soft opening period this weekend. Sometime next week, the features should become permanent.
