Today Walt Disney World announced re-opening dates for four popular Walt Disney World restaurants.
Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be re-opening on August 5th, with guests being able book starting July 29th.
Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort re-opens August 5th, with booking also available July 29th.
At the Magic Kingdom, Columbia Harbour House makes its return on August 5th.
Pizzafari re-opens at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on August 2nd.
Disney is continuing with the rollout of Mobile Order at its quick service restaurants with the addition of Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom set to go live on June 6th.
Mobile Order allows guests to pay for meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, bypassing the queue to order at the restaurant. Using the app, guests can select menu items, customize an order and pre-pay for a meal.
When guests arrive at the restaurant all they have to do is tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, guests are alerted through the app to pick up the meal at a designated window. Only credit card payments will be accepted via Mobile Order, Disney Dining Plan guests will have to use the regular line.
Pizzafari, one of the main quick service restaurants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will be closing for a refurbishment later this month.
The closure is planned to start on August 24th, and continue through October 19th, reopening to guests on October 20th.
The closure is thought to be connected to the addition of a full table service component to the restaurant, expected to open later this year.
Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be discontinuing breakfast service on June 17th.
Pizzafari currently serves a bounty platter, breakfast burrito, and a breakfast croissant from park opening until 10:30 AM.
The discontinuation of breakfast service coincides with the opening of the nearby Starbucks at Creature Comforts, which also offers a range of breakfast sandwiches to eat on the go.
Pizzafari will continue to serve lunch and dinner as normal.
A new table service restaurant will be coming to Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2015.
Work is now underway on expanding and converting parts of the existing Pizzafari quick service location into what is believed to be the new restaurant. No word yet on a name, or the type of food to be offered.
It is expected that both the existing Pizzafari and the new table service restaurant will share parts of the dining area space, and both will operate as part of the finished project.
