Mobile Order Expanding to Pizzafari June 6th

Disney is continuing with the rollout of Mobile Order at its quick service restaurants with the addition of Pizzafari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom set to go live on June 6th.

Mobile Order allows guests to pay for meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, bypassing the queue to order at the restaurant. Using the app, guests can select menu items, customize an order and pre-pay for a meal.

When guests arrive at the restaurant all they have to do is tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, guests are alerted through the app to pick up the meal at a designated window. Only credit card payments will be accepted via Mobile Order, Disney Dining Plan guests will have to use the regular line.

Pizzafari currently serves a bounty platter, breakfast burrito, and a breakfast croissant from park opening until 10:30 AM.

The discontinuation of breakfast service coincides with the opening of the nearby Starbucks at Creature Comforts, which also offers a range of breakfast sandwiches to eat on the go.

Pizzafari will continue to serve lunch and dinner as normal.

A new table service restaurant will be coming to Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2015.

Work is now underway on expanding and converting parts of the existing Pizzafari quick service location into what is believed to be the new restaurant. No word yet on a name, or the type of food to be offered.

It is expected that both the existing Pizzafari and the new table service restaurant will share parts of the dining area space, and both will operate as part of the finished project.
