D-Tech on Demand Awakens This Summer with Limited Release Star Wars Artwork

This summer, guests can enjoy a variety of Star Wars experiences at Disney Parks including the upcoming fireworks show, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular,” at Disney’s Hollywood Studiosstarting June 17. To celebrate a summer of Star Wars at Disney Parks, the D-Tech on Demand team is introducing a limited release collection of Star Wars-inspired artwork at the D-Tech on Demand kiosks in Florida and California.

D-Tech - Star Wars 2

On the first and fifteenth day of each month this summer, guests will find a new piece of artwork used for creating customized or personalized mobile phone cases. Guests visiting Walt Disney World Resort will also find new retail MagicBands artwork.

The two images of phone cases and retail MagicBands above include artwork being released on June 1.

The process for creating a D-Tech on Demand phone case or retail MagicBand takes a few minutes. Guests can select their phone model or MagicBand color, chose a favorite design and add a name. For Star Wars artwork, names can be written in Aurebesh, one of the alphabets used in the Star Wars galaxy.

D-Tech - Star Wars 3

Beginning June 15, additional artwork, as seen in the above and below images, will be added to the respective D-Tech on Demand kiosks. All artwork will only be available for a limited time (typically 30 days).

At Walt Disney World Resort, guests can find D-Tech on Demand kiosks at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in Magic Kingdom Park, D-Tech on Demand boutique in the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs Marketplace, and Star Wars Launch Bay in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

For guests visiting Disneyland Resort, look for D-Tech on Demand at Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland inside Disneyland park or D-Street in Downtown Disney District.

Retail Magic Bands on Demand Opens in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom

Magic Bands to Order

Guests now have a new option to create and personalize retail MagicBands at Walt Disney World Resort. We recently opened a new retail MagicBand on Demand station inside the Tomorrowland Power & Light Co. location near Space Mountain in Magic Kingdom Park. This new option for guests is similar to the D-Tech on Demand boutique first introduced in June 2014 at the Marketplace Co-Op in Disney Springs Marketplace (as seen in this video).

At the Tomorrowland location, you may choose to create either a retail MagicBand or a D-Tech phone case. If creating a retail MagicBand, we offer your choice of eight different MagicBand colors including purple.

There are also approximately 40 graphics to apply to your custom MagicBand. There will be a few MagicBand graphics that will only be found in this location that salute classic Magic Kingdom Park attractions and icons (the first image in this story has a few examples).

In addition to artwork, the retail MagicBand can be personalized with a name printed on the outside.

Once designed, the retail MagicBand is printed in the location. The printers use UV ink which dries immediately and requires no cooling time.

For the final step, the custom retail MagicBand can be either associated to your My Disney Experience account, or you can give it as a gift to friends or family who may be visiting Walt Disney World Resort soon.

Retail for a custom retail MagicBand is $21.95 while a personalized retail MagicBand is $29.95.
